Festival Celebrations

Image
This week, EYFS brought the fun and excitement of the Isle of Wight Festival to our setting with our very own mini festival! The children had a fantastic time designing their own T-shirts and colourful wristbands, which they wore proudly throughout the day. We made musical instruments using recycled materials and had the chance to perform on our stage — complete with singing, dancing, and lots of smiles! Our little festival-goers dressed up in fabulous outfits, made festival headbands, and even built their own tents using poles, sticks, and pegs. It was a magical day filled with music, creativity, and imagination.

Designing festival T-shirts

Image
This week in EYFS, we had a fantastic time getting ready for our Early Years Festival by designing our very own festival-inspired T-shirts! Using fabric pens and stencils, the children created bright and colourful designs, and we introduced them to the painting technique of pointillism — using tiny dots to add detail and texture. The children loved experimenting with colours and patterns, and it was a wonderful way to encourage creativity, independence, and fine motor skills. Each T-shirt was unique and full of personality, and we loved wearing them around the school.

Adventure this week…

Morning work

The children have continued to start each day with whiteboard writing, using their growing phonics knowledge to write captions and sentences.  It has been so lovely to see the confidence with which they are sounding out words and putting their ideas into short, meaningful sentences. The children are showing great focus and enthusiasm.
