Pancake Day
We had lots of fun making and tasting pancakes this week. We also read the story, ‘Mr Wolf’s Pancakes’ in Drawing Club.
Week 7 - Maths - doubling, odd and even and combining groups
This week in maths, we focused on doubling, odd and even numbers, and combining groups. The children practiced doubling numbers, recognising patterns, and discovering how odd and even numbers work through interactive activities and games. We also explored the idea of combining groups, helping them develop a deeper understanding of addition and number relationships. .
Week 7 - Adventure Time
During adventure time this week the children had a wonderful time using the lightbox as a tracing table, allowing them to explore creativity through art and storytelling. Meanwhile, our Tiny Town’s mechanic garage has become a hub of bustling role play, where the children embraced their roles as mechanics. With fantastic vocabulary use, they collaborated seamlessly, negotiating tasks and creating their own narratives within the garage setting. It’s been wonderful to watch them develop both their communication and teamwork skills as they engage in such imaginative, cooperative play!
Week 7 - Grow Gurnard
It was a joy to welcome Grow Gurnard into our Early Years classrooms for an exciting session on imported and locally grown foods. Led by the wonderful Jane, the children explored where their food comes from, comparing fruits and vegetables that travel long distances with those we can grow close to home. It was fantastic to see so many parents joining in, engaging with their children’s learning, and enjoying the interactive activities together.
