Pets at Home 🐹

We were so lucky to have a special visit from Pets at Home this week! They kindly brought along two lovely guinea pigs for us to meet, and the children were absolutely thrilled. We learned how to carefully and gently handle the animals, showing kindness and care throughout. The children asked some really thoughtful questions and showed great curiosity about how to look after pets properly. It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience that sparked lots of excitement and conversation in our classroom!

National Bee Day 🐝

This week in Early Years, we had a buzzing time celebrating National Bee Day! The children were fascinated to learn all sorts of amazing facts about bees—from how they make honey to why they’re so important for our environment. We got creative with bee-themed crafts and even made our own little bee books to show off what we’d learned. To top it all off, we played phonics-inspired games with a bee twist, helping us practise our sounds while having lots of fun.

Amazing morning work

The children have amazed us by diving into their morning work with incredible independence and focus his week. As soon as they arrive, they confidently collect their whiteboards and pens, ready to get started. It's been truly amazing to see how they use their fabulous phonics knowledge to write captions, drawing inspiration from the engaging images displayed on the board. This daily routine not only sets a positive tone for the day but also strengthens their writing and phonics skills in a fun, meaningful way. We're so proud of their growing confidence and independence!

Flavoured water at snack time!

Image
This week we chose our favourite fruit to cut up and add to our water at snack time with some children choosing to add fruit to their water bottles. This was an idea given to the class last week when we have a visit from the IOW dental team - a healthier way to enjoy water.  The children were also really interested about the fruit which floats and those which sink!
