Week 7 - Adventure Time


During adventure time this week the children had a wonderful time using the lightbox as a tracing table, allowing them to explore creativity through art and storytelling. Meanwhile, our Tiny Town’s mechanic garage has become a hub of bustling role play, where the children embraced their roles as mechanics. With fantastic vocabulary use, they collaborated seamlessly, negotiating tasks and creating their own narratives within the garage setting. It’s been wonderful to watch them develop both their communication and teamwork skills as they engage in such imaginative, cooperative play!

Our first week in Reception

This week we have had so much fun exploring our new environment. We have made dinner in 'Tiny Town' and looked at books in 'Story Kingdom'  We learnt the names of the areas in the classroom and were excited to hear about Dojos - our reward system for collecting points.  We met Croc and played sound sound talk games and have joined in with maths rhymes and singing using our class rhyme bag. Mrs Yardley popped by to say hello and read us a story.  The dinner hall was very exciting, we met the dinner ladies and enjoyed eating and talking with our friends. At lunchtime we played in Wonderland on the big field!  We look forward to Monday when all the children will be in together.

Week 3 phonics S, A, T, P

This week we have started learning our sounds and we have been singing along to the Song of Sounds each morning and learning the actions.  We have learnt the phonemes s, a, t and p. We have loved playing games to reinforce these sounds, we have looked for them in the environment and had a go at writing them on the interactive whiteboard.
